Good news for the NICET FIRE ALARM industry. As of August LERC now has a new associate that is teaching in ALL states not previously covered by LERC associates. See Instructor List for who is teaching what classes in your area AND REMEMBER all OPEN UPCOMING CLASSES are listed in this site and you can registor right on line.
NEWS - BIG NEWS FROM LERC. LIMITED ENERGY RESOURCE CENTER IS NOW A REGISTORED TRAINING SCHOOL FOR THE FIBER OPTIC ASSOCIATION. ALL OF OUR CLASSES ARE NOW REGISTORED WITH THIS ASSOCIATION AND ARE ACCEPTED FOR QUALIFICATION TO PREPARE FOR THEIR CFOT AND CFOS CERTIFICATION EXAMS. (SEE WWW.THEFOA.ORG)
RESULTS OF THE SEPT 2004 OREGON ELECTRICAL BOARD MEETING
- Fines for installing without a license start at $1000:
a. Those reapplying for a LEA or LEB license need to show double the amount of work experiance as needed if you completed a apprenticeship course.
b. New rules for publications allowed in License testing. NECs with notes are allowed in exams but only hand written and on original NEC pages. DO NOT ADD ANY PAGES WITH NOTES TO YOUR NEC OR YOU WELL BE REMOVED FROM THE TEST SITE, and not be able to retest for 1 year.
- LERC HAS DONE IT AGAIN. LERC has started giving a customized version of the 2005 NEC for LIMITED ENERGY TECHNICIANS with either the A or B licenses. The course only contains the parts of the NEC and Oregon rules that apply to the LE licenses. ALL LEA AND LEB LICENSES TAKING THIS COURSE STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2004 WiLL HAVE THE 2005 CODE CHANGES APPLIED TO THEIR NEXT LICENSE RENEWAL. THAT MEANS FOR THE LICENSE CYCLE OF 2005 TO 2008.
- 25 AUGUST 2005: The electrical board has finished working on the new requirements for LE licenses in regards to CEU requirements for the next license cycle. All LE Licensees will need 8 hours of 2005 code change by the end of March 2006 and 16 other CEUs in Code Related classes by the end of the license cycle in Sept 2008.
